As the (in many ways terrific) year of 2016 has come to an end, it is only appropriate I take the time to look back at all the knowledge, positivity and different worlds I have picked up throughout it, giving you a glimpse of each along the way. Sit back, and enjoy the ride.
For this day I have been waiting months. It almost felt like it was one of my friends (and not one of my role models) has published a book. What kind of book you may ask? A book that has the potential to transform lives through changing eating habits, inspiring to live a healthier, more active life, and giving a perspective on living differently. A vegan cookbook.
About the author:
I found Niomi through the YouTube platform about three years ago, but it was only in the last two years that I took real interest and became a true follower. There is something different about Niomi. To me, Niomi became my role model not only because of her great and light-hearted personality, but also her values and strength she portrays. Positivity and a great attitude to life is what I truly admire in people. There is something comforting about her videos, something true that I can’t necessarily point my finger on. It’s the feeling of being home (as cheesy as it sounds). It’s the comfort of not being judged by your life choices (e.g. the way we eat) but instead being slowly guided towards a life that is fulfilling and true to yourself.
Relationships are like a mirror, they show us what we need to learn.
About the author:
Mimi Ikonn is an entrepreneur, YouTuber, and a passionate maniac of self-growth. Along with her husband, Alex Ikonn, she co-founded Luxy Hair and Intelligent Change (Five Minute Journal and Productivity Planner) and the Dreamers & Creators in London. To me, Mimi differentiates from the majority of famous public figures as she has relatively humble beginnings, yet has proven to create her own success and dream life.
After following Mimi and Alex for years, their new projects and products have always excited me and kept me alert for every one of their launches. When I first heard Mimi is writing a book, it was like she has finally heard me. Although watching her videos gave me a great deal of information, I always dreamt of having her advice on hand whenever I go. The Bingo Theory, being a book based on relationships, sounded like a perfect match as at the time I have been struggling with this aspect of my life.
Lifelong peace and happiness are available now, and they’re closer than you think. By taking just a few minutes out of your day and making the simple but dramatic shift into the present moment, you will find more focus, effectiveness and clarity than you ever thought possible. There is no jargon, religion or new age vision quest, just simple steps to be happier and more confident straight away.
Mindfulness has always been something I gravitated towards. To learn how to live in the present moment without worrying about the past or the future has been a struggle of mine for the past while. Not because I want to worry about all of these things, but my anxiety has pushed my mind to ridiculous thoughts.
To start my journey to deeper self-growth of the thought process itself, I picked up “Mindfulness – Plain & Simple”. Because I was slacking on reading physical books, I figured this would be the perfect choice as it was relatively short and seemed to be easy to read from day one.
